What is news?

As a general rule, news items will refer to something current or interesting that will appeal to our members. Because this is an arts / fundraising project the news should therefore be related to the arts, charitable work, fundraising or the project itself.
This could include news of interesting arts exhibitions, coverage of arts stories in the news, observations about pictures on the One Million Masterpiece, news about humanitarian issues that we should all be supporting.
As a guide, take a look at previous news posts that have been published.
Q&A : Some questions answered
Can I create a series of posts on the same topic?Yes, of course. If you spot a good idea for a series of posts then go for it! If you submit them all in one go our Administrators might, however, decide to publish them over a period of a few weeks.
Will I be rewarded for submitting news?
If you submit five items of news that are published your account will be upgraded to Supporter status. If your items are particularly well written we might ask you to become a Reporter, at which point you’ll get paid for your posts! Other than that, news post writers gain increase exposure on the website and are likely to attract more votes and site kudos!
What’s the difference between a news post and a bulletin post?
News posts should cover current events or other interesting news that will appeal to project members. If the post is about you personally, or is about any topic other than those listed above, then it might be better as a Bulletin entry (available from your profile pages).
