Hey Matthew... sometimes.. On this one, I had a vague idea of what I wanted and looked in the mirror to see what sort of pose would work for a square. The process was really organic; you can see the hair at first starts off as a sort of green foliage thing somehow, but it transformed into her hair as i painted... some of my paintings are really well planned out; but most of my looser doodles like this are just a seed of an idea and I work on them over time into something more finite.

Got to love this one. My love of colour is always the real inspiration behind any painting i produce that's what i love most, but seeing this painting has made me think perhaps i need to get even more colourful with my work.
