About Penny Dreadful

My name's Badger, or, at least, that's what my friends call me. I'm 17 and living in a small town in middle America, the southern United States. I graduate this year, and can't decide where to go for college. I've been studying art professionally for ten years now, and have won several awards and done a few commissions. My expertise is in expressionistic artworks, cut paper, costume makeup, and cartooning/animation. I also write. In fact, I think my writing is actually better than my art. I write everything from technical rules and regulations for websites to my own graphic novels, in French and English. I have been published many times, and have worked for my local newspaper. I am also interested in forensic sciences and pathology. However, it's everything about myself personally that I find hard to describe. I like too many things and do too many things. If you will, I AM too many things, even. That's why my art is important to me. My square in this project is about just that. I am too many things. I have a mental illness, and even though I am far better now, I still find it hard to overcome in everyday life. Anxiety/panic disorder and schizotypal symptoms are a part of me, and I can't avoid them. I like to help others who are coping with these things as I was, and actively volunteer through NAMI. I volunteer a lot, in fact. I'm active in the Humane Society and WWF, as well as GSUSA working with domestic violence victims. (Which I have also lived through.) I'm also a Wiccan, and that is almost as hard to live down in my deep south state as my bisexuality. However, these things, too, are me, and I cannot deny them. My life has been one giant roller coaster, and it doesn't stop here. No, I have far to go yet, and by adding a piece to this project, I'm stating "Here I come!" Mental illness, alcoholic family, persecution or none. I am a member of the human species, and I want to do my part to tell my story. I'm Badger. I'm a lot of things. And I am a citizen of the world. 	Sin-Mae Chung Wed 24th Jan, 2007 wow,i love ur work. i look & ur piece i think of animals being us, their paw prints vs our finger prints, individually different. u captured a soft look in the paw palm/skin. btw, i read ur bio, i reckon to pull through & succeeding in many things and being able to do many other things is a skill, i like to adapt to many things aswell but sadly im not as multi-talented as you are.
