About Carolyn Sandor-Weston

I am a drawer and a soapstone carver. So whether it is on wood, canvas, paper or stone I love to make marks. I am drawn to the land, it's space & energy and the people who have lived on & with it for thousands of years creating the most amazing belief systems, detailed with sophisticated symbols and rituals! Yes, I was the kid who couldn't decide what I wanted to become once I became a adult. I think that is how I found art. It gave me the freedom to explore my intersts in archelogy and sociolgy while discovering myself at the same time. To me, art is a result of being human and therefore a product of one's physical, emotional and spiritual experience to life past, present and future. Just as importantly, I am also a Mom two 2 super kids and have a fantastic 15 years together with my husband. I am looking foward to the whole family throwing on backpacks and traveling together. This is my first year back to making art full time as my youngest child started grade one in September. It has been scary and great all at the same time!
