Simple is a good start!

I like that the sun and sand are the same colour...sort of ties the image altogether. With regards to improving it....I think it's one of those pictures that you could just keep adding to. Maybe some sharper lines would be good. Have you seen any of the images on playback? Some have been turned into animations, take a look at the Space Monkey forum. I think you could really have some fun with that!

I suppose you could try adding details with a smaller brush (like adding highlights to the palm tree for example).
