I'm just back from Bordeaux where I spent a few days with a good friend of mine before he gets married. And next week I am away to France again, but for a driving holiday with my girlfriend around Alsace, Lorraine and Champagne.

Can't wait to get on the road.

How 'bout you, Cat?

Well, I just got back from a 3-week immersion program in Germany. -grins- ahhh.... it was so amazing. And then I go to Nova Scotia next Friday with a friend. AND I just found out that I'm being invited by my other friend on a cruise next year for a graduation gift. -sigh- If it weren't for jet lag, I'd be giddy with excitement.

I just recently went up to northern california where green stuff actually exists. It was pretty cool, although my family wasn't prepared for a camping trip, we made due. I've got some nice green pictures on my deviantart page, very pretty secluded part of the forest.
Also, as a bunch of you know, I've been trying desperately to try to trade places with someone from the UK, just to see what lifes like on the other side of the lake. So far, no luck, I've even tried pitching the idea as a reality show to a few corperations, but I'm not famous enough for them to care yet.... Oh well, if I do end up going to the UK, it looks like I'll have to pay for everything on my ownsmiley.
hmmmm, maybe I should try the lottery...

Isaac. I didn't think you were serious! smiley
Trading places sounds all very good in theory but my son has to start college here in September to do a baccalaureate . Do they do that in the States?
You are more than welcome to crash on our floor or in a tent in the garden if you are coming over for the exhibition in London but I really don't think my son coming to the USA is an option at the moment (although he fully intends to take a year out from Uni to travel.) He has only just finished school.

As for my holiday Cat,. I will be going to exotic Cornwall for two weeks, next week so keep your fingers and toes and anything else crossed that we get half decent weather as we will be camping with our VW van. If the weather doesn't change it is going to be soooooo miserable.smiley

Yeah, we do the baccalaureate at the end of the last year of high school, I just graduated a month or two ago, so I'm done with that for now. However, the thing with going to the UK is I wouldn't have money to do it on my own, but if I were to have a host family, and my family were to host someone from the UK, everything would be even. But I wouldn't feel right just going over and mooching off of someones things without something in return. Perhaps trying to make it into a reality show, as entertaining as that may be, is the wrong way to go about doing that. Perhaps I can go to a high school in the UK and have it count as college credits, like a foreign exchange student, only I wouldn't have to pay a company a hefty amount of money to join an official foreign exchange program. Just a clean trade, one person from one country for one from another.

Oh, and soon is my birthday, so I'll be going to the beach, a summer traditionsmiley

heh heh... pants... but seriously, I haven't seen rain since... at least a year. supposedly it rained this morning, but I must have slept through it. All we get in Los Angeles is this blasted sunshine, I mean its nice for a while, but I extremely rarely see rain or snow, or any change in weather for that matter. Besides studies have shown that the grass really IS greener on the other side of the fence.smiley (must be all that rain... Lucky)

I checked in with my preffered university about my idea for a foreign exchange program, but I have to be enrolled in the school for at least a year before I can do that apparently. Very unfortunate, I guess I'll see if I can check in with my local community college and see if they like the idea any better.

I personally don't see any problem with it, I would just need to get in contact with a UK school and see if they have any students willing on trading for a school year, experience year round sunshine.
