My name is Morgan Addie, I'm 15 and a pro. artist. People always ask how I sccomplish my work, and I tell them with patience, of course. But the truth is I have a deep passion for art that came out of no where two years ago, and now I'm commissioned on almost a daily basis for different people here in Garland, TX. Anyway, that's me. I'm also a full-IB student (sophmore) at GHS and I play clarinet in the band.

Is there anything you 'don't' do Morgan? smileysmileysmileysmileysmiley

Cooool. Patience indeed is a virtue, could you lend me some next time I try and paint online please?

Love your rose square - exquisitely done.

Age is relative. What do they say, mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter smileysmiley

Thats awesome Morgan!
My interest and talent came out of nowhere when I was around 13 too!
I always forget that though, and am like "That artist is 15 (or whatever)?! Yeah....okay." lol
Congrats on all your success! smiley

It's people like you that I both admire and envy... I've had a passion for art ever since I first picked up a pencil, but I haven't gotten as far as you have. Perhaps one day, but as I get older I get frustrated because I can't put that mental image perfectly on paper (or in this case, into pixels). I just have to keep working and hope my patience lasts forever. xD

I completely understand, Samantha... as sad as it may be, if I'm not looking at something, then my drawings suck (and I'm not being modest). There's a trick to photo-realism; all the details are right there, you just have to pay close attention to the image, colors, lines, patterns and so forth.

I also realize that there's alot more to art than photo-realism, but this style teaches you to draw from observation, and meanwhile perfect your technical skills. smiley

i agree with that.. i too found that observation and patience were a big key in wanting to draw realism. doesnt matter wat medium it is either.. alot of people are very hung on the idea of making mistakes.. i say fear not.. coz no one else will know wat ur actually looking at and what that looks like smiley lol

That's the same deal with me, the only true way I can draw extremely well is if I have references. That's another reason I get frustrated - I know have artistic ability in me, but how come it doesn't come out on paper when I'm trying to create my very own picture? I can do it when I copy, but I'm ambitious. It isn't enough for me xD

MUST. CREATE. OWN. MASTERPIECE.

Ahh. Someday. ^__^

I'm exactly the same. When I do paintings for friends or as commissions, they are always merticulously planned out before I start. I'd love to free myself up a bit and just paint and draw spontaneously, but it's hard to do when you're a perfectionist! I don't like not knowing what my painting will look like when it's finished, I'm probably a bit of a control freak! After uni when I have more time I'll definately start being more adventurous though. Hopefully this site will be around for a while so we can check on each other's progress =)
