Hi there , I've noticing images that seem to be very similar, but may not be aware of eachother. they all have a central source with light or color as the subject. I think it's kind of interesting. some people choose to use different colors, or vary it one way or another, such as faces or dots,or religious symbols.

That's really interesting. I have been noticing common subjects and themes around the OMM, too. There are also styles and methods that are becoming more prevalent.

One thing that I find interesting is the amount of inspiration that people get from the images already contributed. The first few images had pretty much a blank canvas, but thereafter I think that anyone that contributed an image must have at least browsed a profile or two before deciding what to create themselves. Laura's Space Monkeys must be one of the most influential squares on the OMM, and I am sure that there are plenty of others.

I thought that my choice of the black cat was pretty much random, but looking back I realised that I had seen a few cat and animal squares before I had submitted my own.

There were a noticeable number of Autumn and Winter themed images during the past two seasons and many of those shared a subject. Also, the christmas decorations that have found their way into many images smiley

Really interesting Sean, I love seeing similar blocks like this right next to each other. It's amazing how people can produce such similar pictures and yet be flung all around the globe. Just shows how instinctive symbols like this are.
