Ah mist, that was a pretty awesome game. Heh heh, I liked that after you go through the entire game doing all the goals you find out you could have beaten the game at the very beginning. I'm not going to reveal anything specific, 'cause some people may not have played it yet, but it was a kinda interesting twist of plot. I also liked all the backstory you could find if you actually went and read the books in the library.

Unfortunately I only beat the first game, I tried beating riven, but I haven't done it yet, cause I refuse to look online for help. I've got myst 3 and 4 as well, but they remain unopened until 2 is done.

Oh by the way Gwennie, thats a pretty cool turn of events your picture is taking, I look foreward to the rest.

You could theoretically beat Myst in the beginning if you'd played it before. If you didn't have all those clues, how would you know what to do next? Keep going with Riven though, even if it goes slowly. It's the best one of the five!

Aaaaaaand we go off topic. That's okay. Myst is cool. smiley

Bah, topic is just a jumping off point. Speaking of topic, I've decided that my dream job is not simply to test games, but to make them. So THERE! back on topic!

I've coded a few text adventures, which was pretty fun. Well... Okay, so they're not finished yet, but I will agree that making games would be the ideal job. If only I had the right tools to do it...

What kinds of games would you make, I wonder?

Heh, I want to go for something relatively new. Combining FPS's with RPG's. Make it so the player has to choose between a sword and a bow, upgrade them and so on. But make the actual firing of the bow be that of a FPS game. On top of that, make it a massive explorable world, NOT a MMORPG, but rather online games are private games, like diablo or baulders gate. So, like multiplayer oblivion, but rather than the bows and arrows only affecting damage, make different bows have different accuracy, kind of like a sniper bow or a multishot (shotgun) type bow.

Oh, and the best feature of the game, absolutely everything is a weapon, players can pick up chairs and brooms and have at it whalloping each other in the face with frying pans and such. On top of that, make items and areas destructable. players should be able to beat down doors, destroy tables (and then used the parts to hit each other), or use catapults to level houses.

That would be the game I'm aiming for.smiley

Awwwwwwe.....it all sounds so fun! I used to want to design video games, or be a tester, I even had a few game scenarios written out, character bios and all that....but..one day I left my notebook on top of the car on our way to town, when we got back there was a few papers strown on the ground...someone had picked up my notebook. smiley
....but I am not really sure what I want to do now.
I have my own small business making mineral makeup, I love it, but I am really just starting out.....I just think there is more to do than make makeup for a living, lol.
I guess I want to do that and something more...XD lol
I'm not even out of HS yet so its aiight I've got time to figure it out.

Anyways congrats on your job!

Wow, 17 and you already have your own company? Thats pretty impressive. I'm 18 and I don't even have a counterstrike clan (I have a posse, but thats different). Perhaps I should start making something of myself, as of right now I've got my fingers in a lot of pies. I have this book thing, the job, China teaching of course, college, and a bunch of other stuff. I really should limit my projects and concentrate on one thing at a time. "Jack of all trades" isn't as awe inspiring on a resume as a specialization or a degree.

Yeah, I had to make my mom the co-owner though. XDD
In Oklahoma you have to be 18 to register a business as an individual-run company...lol
Might as well keep her as co-owner, she has all the tax knowledge. XD
Anyways...its not that hard now that I have most of the research, FDA crap and legalities out of the way...I'm home-schooled so I have plenty of time. XD
Wow, you do sound like you have your hands full - Do you enjoy all of the things you do/or are working on? btw thanks for the complement on my square smiley

Oh yeah, I totally enjoy the things I'm doing, although these past few days have been kind of empty, since my project finished up I'm waiting for the call for a new project. So I guess I have to resort to playing video games unprofessionally for a while. Since I'm waiting for my uber, laser-shooting, mega-gaming computer to be done, I can't play games online.... Oh well, I just hope I can start working again soon enough to accrue money to spend on things in China, such as airfare.smiley
