Hey there, I imagine that a few of the people reading this have seen my image and perhaps read the tidbit of story attached to it. I would like to point out some slightly subtle deep meanings of the picture for simplicities sake.

The first point is there is a quote about the picture that I wrote :"from the rim of the world into the lake of fire." This is supposed to be a key point of the picture.

In a literal sense, this is from the actual location "rim of the world" overlooking what appears to be a physical lake of fire.

In an alternate sense this is meant looking down into a lower plain, "lake of fire" referring to hell in this case.

In a much more hidden meaning, "lake of fire" used to, in the way olden days, refer to a particular area that served as a dump/sewage-dropoff/diseased-body graveyard. This means its was literally a cespool of rot, filth and decay. You see, according to the story with the picture, Alex sees Los Angeles as a cespool of corruption.

In the title it says "Razing Hell" once again hell is used to refer to the city, and that is kind of what it looks like on fire. When read quickly one might get the hint that there is a kind of evil presence "raised" in Los Angeles (it may correspond with the story, but you'll have to wait to find out how!smiley)

For those of you who are familiar with the word "raze" it means to violently tear, or burn down, a city. So the question is: "Los angeles is being Razed, is that what makes it hell, or was it already considered the lake of fire by the main character?"

There you have it, the in-depth explanation of my picture/story preview. Hopefully this added understanding will lead to increased appreciation for the depth of the concept, and the length that I took to imagine it. This is my attempt at ultimate expression of a character and point of view, and hopefully a step towards good art.

If your picture is more than meets the eye, PLEASE post the explanation here! I've noticed some things in certain pictures, but many are going unnoticed, and I want everyone to appreciate all the art for its full potential.

PS: Be on the look out! There may be a VERY drastic change to the picture that reveals more in the story! Not saying when or if this will happen for sure, but just be prepared!

PSS: (the space monkey/dragon/heart has no actual significance in the story, but I support the cause, just in case you were worried that a space monkey burned down los angelessmiley)

Alright! A fellow of my own line of thinking--symbolism abounds!
My picture means... lots of things. I think I've already posted something on this, but... It's almost like an all-encompassing metaphor for the basic truths I believe in.
1.) God. There are three orbs, and the number holds a special significance in not only Christianity (as with the Trinity), but with a ridiculous number of faiths throughout history.
2.) Extraterrestrial Life. It exists. Even hard science--to some extent--support that life could exist on other planets or in many of the infinite dimensions that supposedly make up the Universe. We've got our three little orbs floating in space, becoming the ultimate starcraft.
3.) Water In religion, in philosophy, in nature... Water is not only an eternal constant, but it seems it holds some kind of meaning. It creates and sustains all life! Again, here's yet another glimpse into one significant thing that, like the number 3, turns up again and again.
4.) Heaven. There's a reason other than aliens that those orbs are floating in space. Space is lofty, infinite, and it truly is bigger than anything else in existence. What better metaphor for Heaven?
So there you have it! I could get really in-depth, but then I'd take up a whole lot of room, and I doubt anyone'd take the time to read it all. smiley

I see, I figured there was more to your picture than met the eye initially. Its interesting, the more you look at the meaning of a picture, the more meaning it has. Every one of the things you talked about aren't just interconnected with the picture, but with each other as well.

For example, water being life sustaining, required, and in essence, perfect. The same could be drawn to heaven as well as God. Those places both being unending, as well as space....

Multiple threads of importance and symbolism makes up the tapestry of this piece of art. I like a lot.smiley
