Making the OMM calender

I was so happy to see that my picture made it into this year's calendar that I actually bought one. I realize I shelled out $30 for just a tiny reprint of something I drew (though I like that the money goes towards charity). But, when I received it I started flipping through the other pages first and realized that if you were in the top row in the center your image is basically hole punched out and I was glad I wasn't in the center (yet sorry for who was.) Then when I got to the month I was in and saw it I was kinda sad. The top part of my picture was gone leaving only the lips and mouth. The only part I thought was good about my picture which was the eye isn't there. I think that the next time OMM makes the calendar it should put a margin of color around the images in the picture to make sure that no one is cut out. It's okay when the whole page is just one thing and it needs to be trimmed, but when your whole picture can be taken out with the hole punch, just meh. I'm still glad I made it though.

I'm Kat and I live in Miami. Currently I'm attending FIU and studying art... still need a lot of work -.- . I'm use to pencil though so digital is a new thing to me and I barely use my tablet (I think only two times before this?) I'm also horrible with color but would love to improve. I plan on eventually taking some kind of coloring class next semester (I've only taken drawing and figure drawing classes so far.) The drawing was the first thing that popped into my head and I guess in a way a reaction to the site when I found it. I love manga, comics, cartoons, and anime. But I personally like to draw realism since I can't seem to draw in a style I like when I try cartoon. This one isn't completely realistic since I wasn't referencing anything but I think it came out pretty good, especially for colors. Thank you for your time! :3
