Planned updates to drawing software

After some live testing we’ve found a few bugs in the current version of the drawing software.

Firstly, we will be removing the square and circle drawing tools. They’re not really in keeping with the spirit of hand drawn images, and make it too easy to create pictures without much thought behind them. They will be removed in an update on Tuesday 27 June.

Secondly, the application doesn’t cope very well when very complicated pictures appear close to one another. The amount of data behind each of the images leads to the Flash player becoming unstable and throwing up a warning message. We plan to fix this in an upgrade on Tuesday 4 July which will replace vector data with bitmap tiles to display the neighbourhood images.

A few other smaller bugs will be removed during these two upgrades. Report any further bugs in the forum pages.
